What Makes Us Special

Step Inside and Feel the Difference

At Taree and District Preschool (TDP) we're more than just a preschool. We are a second home filled with warmth, laughter, and a shared love of learning. From the moment you walk through our doors, you'll sense the difference: bright, welcoming classrooms designed to spark curiosity, a playground buzzing with the joyful sounds of childhood, and a team of dedicated educators who greet each child with a smile and a heart full of care.

Where Curiosity Blooms

Taree and District Preschool is where learning comes alive through play, exploration, and a deep connection to the natural world. Our spacious classrooms are filled with natural light and open-ended materials that invite creativity and problem-solving. Our sprawling outdoor classroom provides endless opportunities for discovery, from a mud kitchen that inspires budding chefs to sensory and vegetable gardens designed to engage all five senses.

Nurturing a Lifelong Love of Learning

At the heart of everything we do at TDP is a deep belief in the power of play. Our play-based curriculum empowers children to learn at their own pace, guided by their innate curiosity. We believe in fostering a love of learning beyond the classroom walls, instilling a sense of wonder, confidence, and a lifelong passion for discovery.

Stimulating Learning Environment

We offer a rich and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, discovery, and investigation.

Specialised Educational Programs

Our curriculum includes specialised programs embedded in your child's everyday learning, encompassing music, arts, science, maths, language, school readiness, and essential group skills.

Caring Community Atmosphere

We foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere where families and children feel a strong sense of belonging and are valued community members.

Natural Bushland Setting

Our large outdoor play space provides endless natural play and exploration opportunities in a beautiful bushland environment.

Focus on Independence

We encourage children to develop independence, self-help, and self-regulation skills, empowering them to thrive.

Small Group Sizes

Our small group sizes and high educator-to-child ratios allow for individualised attention and support for each child.

Sustainability & Respect

We are committed to practising and teaching sustainability, respect, love, and care for our environment. We encourage recycling and we try to reuse what we can.

Progressive Documentation

We provide comprehensive documentation that tells the story of your child's learning journey, including detailed observations and links to the Early Years Learning Framework. This provides a beautiful record of your child's progress and memorable moments at preschool.

If you're looking for a preschool experience beyond the traditional classroom and embrace the wonders of the outdoors, our Bush Preschool program might be the perfect fit for your child!

Building Strong Foundations

Partnerships with Families

At Taree and District Preschool, we believe a child’s journey thrives when families and educators work together. We view parents as valued partners who work together to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every child can flourish.

Here’s how we cultivate meaningful partnerships.

Open and Consistent Communication

Daily Updates

We believe in informing families about their child’s day. We do this through daily chats and online platforms such as our OWNA App, where we upload our program and daybook to glimpse your child’s learning journey and share special moments and information.

Open-Door Policy

Our doors are always open! We encourage families to visit, volunteer, and participate in classroom activities whenever possible.

Regular Communication Channels

Parent-teacher conferences, phone calls, and emails provide dedicated time for in-depth conversations about each child's progress, strengths, and areas for growth.

Shared Celebrations and Collaboration

Family Events

we host events that unite families to celebrate children's achievements and create lasting memories.

Parent Involvement

We value our families' unique perspectives and talents. We encourage parents to share their skills, hobbies, and cultural traditions to enrich the learning environment. We also invite families to serve on our preschool committee.

Collaborative Goal Setting

We work with families to set individual learning goals for each child, ensuring a shared vision for their development and growth.

Beyond the Classroom

Resource Sharing

We provide families with access to valuable resources, including community events, parenting workshops, and support networks, recognising that a supportive community extends beyond the walls of our preschool

Ongoing Dialogue

We believe in open and honest communication, addressing concerns with sensitivity and care. We're here to listen, learn, and grow together.

At Taree and District, strong partnerships with families create a supportive and enriching experience where children feel loved, understood, and empowered to thrive.
